Downgrading the WAP11 Firmware - New and Improved (easier) way.
If you are here because you want to do the Wap11Hack but have put a version of firmware on your Ver. 1 Acess Point that broke the SNMP, i'd simply suggest you get the latest firmware, 1.4j1 from (http://www.andrewhakman.dhs.org/wap11/firmware/1.4j1).
- Download these files
- Extract and install the SMC tool. Also, extract the 1.4g7 firmware.
- Use the SMC tool to connect to your Acess Point. Hit the "Upgrade firmware" button, and browse to where you extracted the 1.4g7 firmware. Press OK
You now have gone back to firmware 1.4g7.
If you have to go back further than 1.4g7, use the USB utility, but rename the old firmware file of the version you want, to the same name as the firmware file of the version the USB upgrade tool is expecting (and rename the new one to whatever.bak so you can put it back easily later)
Check out (http://www.andrewhakman.dhs.org/wap11) for all sorts of wap-11 related stuff.
Have fun. Andrew
