Notes:
Street View of Drinkmore
Thomas St. Park.
By Rob 7-6-2002 Still up and going. Got a coffee and went across the street to the park. Reception in the park is great!
" By John" 7-8-2002 we went there last night in the middle of the night got a strong signal outside but we soon lost it and never got back online for the 45 minutes we were there, we will try again today! The mere thought is incredible...
By Ric Troyer 9-7-2002 I enjoyed the atmosphere, unfortunately, Matt wasn't around. I tried out the connection at the park across the street and had luck for only brief time periods. The best reception was in the cafe or just outside at the bus stop. Thanks for the free wireless access (and damn Starbucks and their HotSpot's).
1-16-2003 Drinkmore has doubled it's size and back to it's regular hours (7am - 8pm)
- We also moved the antenna so there is better coverage throughout the shop. Haven't tested from the park yet, but the antenna is now up on a rafter rather than behind the odwalla fridge
so it should be better. --MattWestervelt
2-4-2003 BitStar is changing its name to Drinkmore, and is now one of the best places to surf. The signal is strong, there's lots of window seating by the park, and they serve a damn fine cup of joe. --Scrappy
3-12-2003 Hiya, Scrappy! Hoped to see you in that MSNBC picture of Matt sitting in front of Bitstar but no luck that time. -- StartideRising 4-09-2003 Hey Scrappy! Came by but didn't see ya around! Maybe next time? -- StartideRising
2004-02-14 Ack, what happened? I went there for lunch today (for the first time) only to learn that it is closed. It looked like it was condemned or something. Does anyone know what happened? Dang, between this and the SpeakEasy Cafe, I never go anywhere cool before it closes :'(. --AndrewHitchcock
2004-03-07 The Drinkmore Cafe was going great, but the building owner decided to demolish the place and build condos. No word on whether owner Scott Kennedy will open another place, although I certainly hope so.
