MtBaldi is now part of the SeattleWireless project called SnowNet. MtBaldi has LineOfSight to OrtingMicrowaveSite, BlynMicrowaveSite, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and mountains that can take us into eastern washington communities.
MtBaldi currently has a link to Seattle that has been running for some time now, and we have tested a link to TacomaZone that will be installed soon. The Tacoma link for TacomaZone has been tested with voice over ip, http, and ftp file transfers. Pictures for the test are available at TacomaZone.
Mt. Baldi and its possible use as a wireless backbone site was one of the subjects discussed at the DecemberMeeting2002 and AprilMeeting2003.
If Mt Baldi becomes used on a regular basis, it can be entered into LongShots.
