Network of networks covering a metropolitan area. An advantage of such a network is that you can roam a greater distance than if you were depending on just your AP at home.
This kind of network can be represented by the following example: Take your LAN and connect it to your neighbor's LAN. Keep doing this until you hit the other side of the city.
This could also be a Massive Area Network....
The metropolitan area network acronym is MAN.
