Info
F5D7330 is much like the Belkin_F5D7230-4. But it only contains 1 ethernet port. The device is used as a wireless ethernet adapter.
Hardware
Model 1000yy:
- miniPCI card: Broadcom BCM4306KFB miniPCI wireless 802.11g adapter
- CPU: BCM4702KPB
- Flash: AMD AM29LV160DB
Memory: EtronTech EM63816STS-7
- PHY: Altima AC101LKQT
One interesting thing about this pcb compared to Belkin_F5D7230-4 is that there is a 10 pin connector available. As most certanly the 20 pin connector only contains the address/databuss signals to the CPU, maybe this connector contains either a JTAG or maybe even RS232 connection ?
There is also a unpopulated 8 pin connector. Only 4 of the pins seems to be connected. Maybe this is for a USB port ?
Software
There is no software updates available for this device. Belkin_F5D7230-4 software works on the device, but be aware that the device will then be an access point instead of Wireless Ethernet Adapter. There is _no_ know way to revert to the old state yet.
There is also missing GPL sources for this device on Belkins pages. But there should be no problem using the Belkin_F5D7230-4 sources.
Update:
Belkin has now Firmware Versions v1.0.0.7 and v1.0.0.9 for download on their website (google for F5D730 Firmware). Version 1.0.0.9 adds WPA (TKIP) and WPA2 (AES) capability. They write, some users still prefer the older v1.0.0.7, so both are provided. Link to GPL Source is available by email request.
There is a newer hardware version, so read before flashing.
