Definition:
A DxNode is a node that does not have any upstream connection. It is partitioned from the network, because the owner is starting out with one AccessPoint, and doesn't have a link to another node yet. We expect a DxNode to grow up to be a CxNode at least. The only interface has an omnidirectional antenna that ClientNodes connect to. ClientNodes either connect as they would to an AccessPoint, or as they would to a CxNode.
Addressing:
DxNode will have some kind of address space, as much as a /24, but assigned by hand, and not by an upstream node.
We expect a DxNode to grow up to be a CxNode, BxNode, or even an AxNode

Q: What is the terminology for a Node with an Omni and a wired upstream connection? (BrettWagner)
A: It would be a CxNode. We are assuming that most of the time a CxNode will have a wireless uplink but the definition doesn't say it has to. - TomO'Hern
Q: What about in the early stages of the mesh, when there are 2 nodes with a p2p link to each other?
A: First, 2 nodes is not quite a mesh. Two nodes with a point to point link between them would both be CxNodes.
Q: Or if theres 3 nodes, 1 <-> 2 <-> 3, all p2p, where 3 is a BxNode....?
A: Nope. Here node 2 will be a BxNode and nodes 1 and 3 will be CxNodes.
