A Campus Area Network is a group of several computers linked together over several buildings in an area. All of the computers which are connected together have some form of relationship to each other, such as employees of a single company, students at an educational institution, or employees of a government agency. The method of linking these computers is the network, whether it uses wire, wireless or some new technology. The term 'campus' is used because the area where all the buildings being interconnected is referred to as a campus.
