Perl is the fav, Java and JSP is the current. PHP looks easy enough to pick up and MattWestervelt is all ga-ga about Python.

Personally, I hate Java, always have. Why? Perhaps it is the hypocracy which put it in place, that being Sun Micro and their "free" language, their "open" language, which only they may control. Fooey. It is all market control and advertising. Don't believe me? Tell me which of this list isn't a marketing term for a Java branch:

Swing Java Beans Servelet Applet Java Server Pages Enterprise Java Beans JDBC

Looks more like a brand than a standard to me. Put me in front of a *nix box with apache and cgi and then we'll see web development.

But I want to get away from that, use it more as a hobby than career, and do more DesigningGames.
