General Meetings are no longer held on a regular basis, if there if is enough news to talk about or if we have some good presentations lined up, we will schedule a meeting.
See http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/FrequentlyAskedWildGooseChases#head-d7568354f8968eae8e596dd7b4a8704fe774f92b for more info on General meetings.
If you want to present at a general meeting or get something on the GeneralMeetingAgenda, go ahead and post it. Meetings are scheduled on the MailingLists, at HackNight or when we feel enough time has passed since the last one.
We will send mail to the MailingLists and post information here. If there is a non Seattle Wireless event that you feel needs to be posted here, feel free, but please put it in the Other Events section.

2:00PM, Sunday December 9th 2001 A meeting is scheduled for this weekend at the MeetingSpace. Primary topic will be Public Relations and getting the word out about SeattleWireless. Other discussion topics are TBD.
Wrapup
Peter A. started of with talking about the need for some organized PublicRelations and got some volunteers to meet next week (what was the date Peter?). MattW did a talk about the project to help inform some of the first timers. That followed with what I thought was a really good Q&A session.
Matt Asham from BCWireless came down for the meeting although he tried to hide in the corner
After that we started the antenna session which lasted till about 8:30-9:00. I think I heard that 15 or 16 antennas got built. Richard, Tom, Choong, Peter and Ken took two of the pringles antennas down to boeing field and did a successful file tranfer at almost .6 miles. Would have tried greater distances, but it was cold and the cops kept harrasing us
There was also a quick test of netmeeting over 802.11b and 802.11a. It did video and audio as it would on a local lan. We did run into coverage trouble with the cement walls in the storage facility but it looks very promising on a good link.
2:00PM, Sunday November 11th 2001
A good meeting in our new MeetingSpace in Georgetown. KenCaruso gave a presentation overviewing the project and its status. There was some general discussion about antennae and about why non-technical people would be interested in the project. Then, we split into groups according to where we lived, and the meeting became less coherent from there. Matt and Choong played CounterStrike over 802.11b. Regular meetings were proposed for the second Sunday of each month, at 2:00, unless that's a three-day weekend, in which case the meeting will be held the first Sunday of the month. Antenna parties will take place at 4:00 or so the same days.

12:00AM, Friday October 12th 2001
Not really a meeting, just an adhoc experiment by KenCaruso to induce fellow geeks at AMDs free give AthlonXP give-away to the SeattleWireless. We met at the AuraficeCafe before traveling to WestlakeCenter. FreeAmdMeetingInformation has details and maybe pictures if anyone posts them.

2:00PM, Sunday September 9 2001
615 Bellevue Ave E. Bring gear and compute in the grass once again. Same place as the BBQ.
Wrapup
Weather was Awesome, I would guess between 20-30 people showed. There were some cool toys, Ben brought his raygun-like yagi-antenna. There were a couple of Ipaqs. Apparently people had trouble getting on the network, probably related to being on the fringe of Matt's service area (although I had no trouble). Alot of new people who are interested in putting up nodes. Be sure to get on the mailing list and find some people nearby. Some of us headed down to Scott Kennedy's concert. See Pictures @ SeptemberMeetingPictures
2:00PM, Saturday 21 July 2001
Courtyard BBQ. 615 Bellevue Ave E. Bring your gear and compute in the grass. Plenty of view so if you're on Westlake, Q.Anne or near the needle, set up your node and test it out from distance. We're providing hot metal, You bring food.
Wrapup
The weather was not so great, but we got to check out gear, eat food and compute in the overcastness of seattle. Burgers and pop were consumed and networks were tested. See the pictures at BBQPictures.
6:00 PM, Thursday 10 May 2001
Meeting #6! 1235 Westlake (MeetingSpace) The agenda looks light right now (it's somewhat of a mixer, bring beer and snacks) but there's a lot of stuff going on so make sure you attend.
12:00 PM, Sunday 25 February 2001
Meeting #5! 1235 Westlake. Our first meeting in 2001! This will be at our official MeetingSpace. We have lots of gear to show off and will try to make this a working meeting as well. We are trying to get wireless going, but are just out of line-of-site from our initial sites. If anyone is on EastLake, let us know.
Wrapup
This was a very interesting meeting with lots of hardware around and a lot of new faces. We went over antenna design, the setup of WestSeattleBxNodeOne and plans for the Coffee Shop. Lots of people had gear and it looks like we're very close to having a 4 way link. Another antenna building party is in the works and hopefully we wont have to deal with super glue this time. I haven't been able to get the pictures up due to work and the earthquake, but bear with me, they'll be up soon.
6:00 PM, Thursday 28 December 2000
- Meeting #4! 2440 Western Ave "Site 17 Apts" Conference Room. As well as being our last general meeting of 2000, This meeting will have representatives from other wireless groups speaking to the group!
BAWUG (BayAreaWirelessUserGroup)
- PDX / PTP ( Portland Wireless and Personal Telco Project )
- BC Wireless ( Vancouver, BC )
Consume.NET ( KenCaruso's TripReport )
Wrapup:
For some reason, PDX and PTP did not make it. Hopefully it was a decision not to come rather than them getting lost and not finding it. The tape ran out about halfway through MatthewAsham's talk so we didn't get KenCaruso's trip report on tape. There is some video at MeetingFourVideos.
Ken and MattPeterson took a few pictures: MeetingFourPictures
The meeting went very well with lots of questions and answers, and a somewhat confusing presentation (RatHole) about IntraIntra.
Bonus Points:
RobertCrecine has 3 directionals showing up next week. We will be doing some distance testing and general mayhem with those as soon as we can. PanosKrokos has an omni somewhere lost in shipping, and we will be setting up the WestSeattle node sometime in the new year. DanEgnor owes some people free lunch. All the experts agree..... IntraIntra will work. ZekesPizza is a good place to make a lot of noise and drink beer.
8:00 PM, Thursday, 12 October 2000

7:00 PM, Monday, 25 September 2000
Our second meeting. 2440 Western Ave "Site 17 Apts". (Directions and RSVP deleted.) This was a great meeting with lots of people -- more than I expected. Westervelt and Briggs showed off their new homemade directional antenna, and we were able to use it with two other laptops to set up a network. Lots of general chitchat. We need testing locations -- get those photos in, people!
3:00 PM, Saturday, 16 September 2000
- Our first meeting! Many of us met each other for the first time. We decided to start looking for sites with good line-of-sight over a reasonable distance for initial testing. We had lots of discussion about hardware, software, and organization. We decided to hold the next meeting on a weekday evening.
